First day as a SAHM

We had a great first day home together without having to worry about conference calls and videoconferences (although Sophie sure does look cute in a headset as you can see from these photos pf Sophie helping Mommy work last week).

The time change over the weekend sort of fouled our good little sleeper up and so unfortunately, we were up around 4am so it was a long day. (She slept until 5am today - hey, it's progress!) But the wicked early wake-up was more than made up for by the fabulous mood Sophie was in (especially compared to the horrible terrible awful day on Saturday when she was teething so bad). She was happy and funny and full of joy and spirit yesterday so for that I was extremely grateful. We were going to go check out a free Gymboree class but she had her second nap of the morning (due to being up so early) and sort of slept right on through it. Oh well!

So, instead we went to the park after lunch. Sophie loves to swing in the swings. (We had always just held her and sat in the regular swings but the daycare ladies told me she loved being in the babyswing by herself at daycare and sure enough she does.) Then, she had some more good afternoon napping and playing. I didn't get a whole heck of a lot done. We didn't get to go to Gymboree but it felt so wonderful to not be tied to the computer all day and to be able to leave in the middle of the day to go out together. It was also wonderful to sit and play with her and give her my full attention rather than trying to do emails and calls all day. What a joy to get to be more present with her all day from now on!

Thanks to everyone for your support! It has really meant a lot. Godmother Dani and Godmother Heather both sent flowers to celebrate!! How sweet! Thanks to you both so much! Jim and I are really excited by this next phase for us and what it means for our little family.
